2017 Just started which means this is a new year filled with lots of new choices that you will be making. I just wanted to remind some of you that making one wrong mistake is okay, and just like Cudi says ” Its a bad day, not a bad life” so in this following year if you have one bad day or multiple, its not going to ruin the rest of your life. Keep your heads up, keep the music playing, and do what makes you happy. New year new chances, and make sure to take advantage of every chance you get. One of my favorite songs by Cudi would have to be “Balmain Jeans” or “Swim In The Light” from his new album “Passion, Pain, and Demon Slayin”. Music is something that everyone can understand and enjoy regardless of literal barriers keeping the scene apart. Different artists such as Jay Park or J Cole have similar produced music and both have music within the same genre but are surrounded by different languages and cultures. Kpop artists, khiphop artists and american artists aren’t that much different at all music wise, both can be appreciated by the hard work they all put into their art. The meanings behind the music is what ties everything together between the different genres, languages, cultures, and artists. Everything has meaning but bringing what they’ve been through into the music such as artists like Phora, J Cole, AGUST D, and Rapmonster all telling what has happened through their music. For example in Rap monsters “Joke” he’s talking about the fact that idols in that genre of music are defined because of what they produce. In AGUST D’s music he talks about his mental struggles with depression, self love and confidence. The only difference between the two categories are the languages, everyone can relate and feel what all artists in this industry are saying…just have to choose whether or not to accept them despite the barriers.

Happy holidays. One of my favorite quotes from J.Cole, don’t forget to take risks in your life. One of my favorite albums by Cole but his new album “4 Your Eyes Only” is really good. I would recommend “Neighbors” or “Deja Vu” my two favorites from the album. But my all time favorite album by Cole would have to be “Forrest Hill Drive” which is why I chose that as my background for this quote.
